Advertising Mistake #1 – Times are a-changing…Are you willing to Grow, Learn, Change Or Act
Whether you’re selling a product or a service, everything in business is a process. One step or point, leads to another, and another, and hopefully you go from enquiry to customer.
However, to chase the proverbial golden egg, there is always a need for growth, learning and change. Or die.
The same is said for marketing as well. If you aren’t marketing, you actually don’t exist…literally.
What we need to understand is … How to improve our Marketing so we can be found, over and over again.
You see, marketing is a process – it is the Life Force of your business.
Like oxygen you breathe, marketing is an essential activity in your business. It’s not something you do occasionally, no more than breathing.
Good marketing is one continuous, flowing, life-enriching process.
So, now to breathe more deeply and more richly! Demonstrate your willingness to grow, learn, live, change, act or prosper!
In scuba diving, there is a rule that you have to follow. It’s called “ABC” – “Always Breathe Continuously.” For our own company, we have a similar rule, but it is called “AMC” –
“Always Market Continuously”
That means you must have your marketing machine turned on – cranking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 12 months out of the year, so you create a constant flow of prospects and leads coming into your business. A percentage of whom will become your clients/customers/patients.
Now, there’s one thing I want you to understand. I am constantly reading, going to seminars, talking to people and doing everything I can to further my education in marketing. I know I can never learn enough about marketing to satisfy both my curiosity and my bank account!
I have realised an important fact: the more I learn and the more I study and the more I grow, the better my business will become AND the better a business owner I become.
When it comes to marketing, there are thousands of little known secrets that are literally worth millions of dollars in return for you. However, if you think learning once is enough, you are wrong. It take continuous study, experimentation and testing to become the best you can possibly be. And we all know if you don’t grow, you die.
So here is tip #1: When it comes to marketing, its actually about understanding human nature. The way we work, how we think, why we make decisions, our human conditioning and so on, and so on. The better you understand how human minds work the better your marketing will be!
Why? Because you will always be marketing directly to people – to their emotions and to getting them where they live – in their heart. So, yes, it’s hard work, but nobody said this was going to be easy, did they? Besides, if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it!
Be willing to give your prospect/lead/enquiry a reason to do something RIGHT NOW and TAKE ACTION. Whether its the FREE reports or FREE information, everyone needs a good reason to get up off the couch and respond. Make sure you give them one!
