Supporting Education & Emerging Talent

Bridging learning and real-world experience

We believe education plays a vital role in building strong industries and future capability.  Hence our partnership with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) reflects our commitment to supporting emerging talent through practical, real-world learning experiences.

Why WE Support Internship Programs

For many students, the transition from study to professional practice can be challenging.

Internship programs help bridge that gap by providing:

  • exposure to real business environments
  • practical application of academic learning
  • insight into professional expectations and decision-making

We see this as an investment in future capability — not just for individuals, but for the broader industry.

Our Approach to Internships

We adhere to the requirements and parameters provided by the University first and foremost.  Once the information is given, the internships are designed to be:

  • structured and supportive
  • educational, not transactional
  • grounded in real work and real outcomes

We encourage our interns to learn, ask questions, and develop confidence — supported by experienced professionals.  It is through asking questions, their greatest learning is achieved.

Nathan Higgins UX Design

I completed my 100 hours with Your Marketing Machines as UX designer.  On my first day, I was invited to a client meeting to discuss an e-commerce project.
Who would've thought that I could be exposed to this opportunity, especially on my first day.  The lessons I learned have shaped how I view my role in UX within a business.

Michaiah Voon Client Project Lead

I first met YMM in 2018 and applied as an Intern when completing my marketing degrees.  Starting with videography, I was employed by YMM and expanded my skill sets.  By the end of 2022 I was project managing client's marketing requirements, creating visual and written content working with other team members. I am so thankful for the life and business lessons I gained during my time with YMM.

Sze Wong UX/Web Designer
I was studying UX Design at QUT during COVID and had to complete 100 hours internship. YMM provided the internship and then offered employment until end of 2022.  My role was primarily web design and development for our clients.  During my time with YMM I learned a lot of business, interpersonal and marketing skills.  Thank you for all your encouragement.
Jai Lordan Content - CRM
I completed an internship in 2020 with YMM and because of the growth of the business, I was offered employment.  For the next 18 months I focused on client CRM systems - onboarding, systemising and content creation.  I never realised how important organisational skills would be until I left for employment with Qld Ambulance Centre.  Thank you for everything.

Mutual Benefit, Shared Learning & Looking Ahead

While internships support student development, they also bring:

  • fresh perspectives
  • curiosity and new thinking
  • meaningful exchange of ideas

We value this two-way learning as part of responsible business practice.

Our commitment to education and emerging talent continues to evolve as our business grows.  By supporting learning and development opportunities, we contribute to building a stronger, more capable future workforce.
